This project emerged from a previous joint project with three other Rotary clubs and as a consequence of the 2014 International Convention in Sydney.

The earlier project was the construction of a sanitary block in a shanty town in Johannesburg.  That project was shared with people coming to Australia from the USA and South Africa who were home-hosted.  An "International Night" was held to which Rotarians from South Africa, France, New Orleans, Kentucky, Connecticut and Cambodia also attended.

Each Rotarian described their club's activities.  The Cambodian Rotarian described the situation facing this very young lady who had a hole in skull and consequently was disfigured.  He also spoke about the solution.

The Rotary Club of Gosford was drawn to this cause and immediately donated US$800.  You will surely agree that the result was well worthwhile and the young lady is leading a much better life.
