It will take the affected residents who were so badly hurt with loss of homes and possessions a long time to recover but the combined Rotary clubs of the Central Coast have mightily contributed to that recovery.
Over the course of fund raising direct community donations totalled $29000, a wonderful and generous effort. To that Central Coast Rotary clubs contributed another $15000 and this amount was matched, dollar for dollar by Rotary's own charity kept for global emergencies bringing the Rotary total to $30000.
Combined with community contributions this $59000 will all be distributed as promptly as possible. $57000 is being returned at the time of writing. 25 homes were seriously damaged with 16 of those completely destroyed and the balance of $2000 will be passed to the local SES to replenish items used in their relief effort.
As always with Rotary all inputs were provided completely free of charge on a voluntary basis and there were zero administration costs passed on. All incidental costs incurred by rotarians are met by those rotarians themselves.
