Gosford Rotary has long supported and recognised our top apprentices in the building trade and Michael and Ben have won our perpetual awards.
Michael Williams was last night awarded the "Jimmy", the award for best Cert IV apprentice and named on honour of legendary engineer and member, the late Mr James Kirkness. Michael will have his own award to keep and the trophy will be on permanent display at the Ourimbah TAFE campus.
Ben Ruskin was delighted to be awarded the "Milty", the award for best first year apprentice and named in honour of our past man for all seasons, the very popular Mr Milton Fraser . Like Michael, Ben will have his personal award to keep while the trophy will also reside on display at the Ourimbah campus.
In speaking to the awards Mr Brendan Maxworthy, head teacher, building and construction at Ourimbah detailed the many criteria Michael and Ben had displayed to win their awards and he went on to say how much these awards were valued .
It is a good thing to achieve such recognition and Gosford Rotary is pleased to be part of this process.
